Mariposa - The one who started it all!
This wonderful little dog stole my heart. She is the best Valentine's Day gift I ever received. I love her, but she loves only herself. She is prissy and dainty. She really thinks she is better than everyone else. She only has one eye, but she thinks she is a beautiful empress. She is full of energy, and thinks she can really fly. She can easily leap our four foot fences. (So we built 6ft fences.)
Coco Loco - One crazy coconut
I bought this dog so my butterfly would have a companion. It turned out that he loved only me. He tolerated others so long as they didn't interfere with us. He became my constant companion. Sadly, he was taken from us too soon. But not before he gave us the two princesses; the del Coco-Mari's.
Sancho - He loves all the Ladies
With the passing of the beloved "Coki Lokster", we needed a new companion for our beautiful butterfly. We found Sancho in Missouri and had him flown into El Paso via Denver. Crazy trip but he arrived and was ready to play from the beginning. When he isn't courting the ladies, he is playing golf - fetch style. (Tennis balls are a bit too big!) He's our sharp dressed man.
Domino - She's Bonesy
Domino is a del Coco-Mari. Along with her sister, they are the only offspring from Coco and so we just could not part with her. My son claimed her a few days after she was born. She sleeps under the covers and loves to ride the bicycle with her master. She rarely ever talks. She is sneaky and silent. She's our ninja. We call her bonesy because she eats like a pig but always keeps her girlish figure.
Oreo - She's a maddogger
This del Coco-Mari princess was claimed by my daughter. Like her mistress, she loves drama. She starts minor scuffles with her sister, mother, and suitor. She is forever trying to steal the loving from all the other dogs. She thinks she should be the only one who gets petted. She will growl talk to you if you aren't paying attention to her. She's the ambassador. We call her maddogger because she is always giving people the evil eye when they ignore her.
Tank Sir Nacho
This is the court jester. He is a rescue dog. This is him strutting his stuff when he returned from the groomer. He has a cute under bite which makes it appear as if he is always smiling. He is a bit dense and takes his time figuring out the game(sometimes he doesn't really figure it out). He is afraid of the puppies and runs away from them, but he seems to get along well with the older dogs. The imperial guard are still a bit suspicious of him. He has no aggression and runs away from any potential confrontation.
Kita and Lobo - The Imperial Guard
Meet the big bad wolves. They guard the whole family including the Papillons. They seem very threatening to outsiders, but to us they are giant house dogs. Lobo sleeps on the couch, and Kita crowds into my daughter's bed at night. Lobo is madly in love with Mariposa, and Kita plays fetch with Sancho. Don't mess up and say "Bye-Bye" out loud or 7 dogs will bring leashes and demand a trip around the block all at once. It's a mad, mad world. But Papillonia is a place for dogs and dog lovers. We are all dog people. We don't want it any other way.
